Autumn colours, time to pause & letting a few surp Autumn colours, time to pause & letting a few surprises sink in. It’s been a busy fortnight (mostly lovely stuff but still full-on), so I haven’t really had chance to celebrate winning the Geoff Stevens Memorial Poetry Prize 2024 (my poetry collection Darling Blue to be  published next year!) or being a runner-up in the Walk Listen Create 2024 Walking Together Writing Competition and third prize in the Leeds Peace Poetry Competition 2024! (Big congratulations to all the winners and shortlisted!) Most of writing life is, of course, hard work and often getting nowhere, so these were very welcome pieces of autumn news, as was heading briefly to Port Sunlight for the Wirral Poetry Festival, where my poetryfilm of one of my Darling Blue poems Owerblawing was in the festival videoanthology screened in the main gallery at the Lady Lever Art Gallery. Big thanks to the judges and organisers for making these wonderful things happen! I’m also very excited about new V.
