Sarah James is an award-winning journalist, fiction writer, poet and photographer living in Droitwich.
Her first full-length poetry collection Into the Yell was published by Circaidy Gregory Press in July 2010.
She has won or been placed in many literary competitions and widely published in literary journals and anthologies. These includePoetry News, Magma, Orbis and Poetry Nottingham.
Sarah is also the Poetry Society stanza representative for Worcester and Droitwich (under her married name Sarah Leavesley) and has been poet in residence at Worcester Oxfam Bookshop.
As a professional member of the National Association for Writers in Education, Sarah leads creative writing workshop and is currently studying herself for an MA in creative writing with Manchester Metropolitan University.
A keen photographer, Sarah was winner of the 2008 Droitwich Specsavers Opticians’ Life through a Lens photography contest (aged over 30 class).
The mother-of-two’s many other shape-shifting roles include time-squeezer, sky-watcher, chaos-catcher, quiet-seeker…and she is also a compulsive list-maker!
