I’ve not come across the name – but the Poetry Society stanza has only been going about 18 months. The spoken word events in Worcester are even more recent than that. I keep meeting new writers all the time though – particularly with plans for Worcestershire’s first literature festival next year.

Think she uses Helen Manthorpe………did some “mentoring” with her and I thought she came up with some interesting stuff……….not heard from her in a while though.

Definitely onwards and upwards! Not for the faint-hearted, the ‘writing lark’!

I don’t think I know Helen Wheldon – but that doesn’t mean I don’t! There are quite a few new performance poetry/spoken word events which have started up in the Worcester area recently. What name does she write/read/perform under?

Highly likely to be doing a floor spot again in Sept………..doing lots of writing and a fair bit of reading at the moment…….but in terms of publication can’t get arrested ! Ah well onwards and upwards !

Notice you do some stuff in Worcester………don’t suppose you know Helen Wheldon (nee Manthorpe)……….a poet I know who lives out that way ?

Congrats on the collection………looking forward to hearing more from it at Poetry Bites on 28th Sept. I was also at the Mike Barlow/ Jane Routh reading (Andrew Barnes….read a floor spot….. Mysteries of Swing, Walling, Dusk in West Wight etc)…Particulalrly enjoyed Mike Barlow’s stuff !

I cannot believe you have made time for so much powerful and engaging work as well as having a family, and I have only read Into The Yell! I am really excited about catching up on some of your other works. And to think you have been “down the road” all this time!
